Snorkeling Tours

Duration: 2-3
Starting from: $50

Overview

Snorkeling in Costa Rica is available on both coasts of the country. In general, the best snorkeling is further out in the ocean so Snorkeling Tours are often combined with a kayak tour, catamaran tour, or dolphin tours.

The Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is more famous for its coral reefs and beautiful scuba diving and snorkeling. An amazing place to go snorkeling is in Cahuita on the Caribbean coast, less than 30 minutes north of Puerto Viejo. Cahuita has a national park where you can snorkel on beautiful coral reefs accompanied by a professional snorkeler to make sure that we keep the reefs intact.

Another great place for snorkeling is just 15 minutes south of Puerto Viejo and the place is called Manzanillo. From here you can walk out in the shallow waters with your guide so you together can explore the beautiful reefs.

On the Pacific coast there are many exciting rock reefs in the northern region of Guanacaste. These rocks reefs are generally accessed by kayak, catamarans, or smaller boats. While snorkeling the rock reefs of Guanacaste you can see small reef fish and star fish.

In Samara you can take a nice kayak paddling out to the island of Isla Chora. It’s about a 20-minute paddle out to this white sand beach where we get a nice snorkeling experience while we also get to know 11 different species of birds and reptiles that live on this island. This is one of the most exciting Snorkeling Tours!

Tortuga island outside the Nicoya peninsula is another great spot for snorkeling. It offers great snorkeling and leisure time at this pristine island and its beautiful white sand beach. The island is the base of the snorkeling operations.

If you are in the central part of the Pacific coast a visit to Manuel Antonio is a great stop. From here we offer snorkeling to Biesanz Beach in Manuel Antonio. This is the best spot for snorkeling in the central Pacific but the rainy season can limit visibility between May and November.

In the southern Pacific you will find Marino Ballena National Park, famous for its whale safaris. Most tours are made by kayak or different boats and the best time for snorkeling is December to April as well as in June and July. Snorkeling here is also over rock reefs.

Osa Peninsula is famous for its immense diversity in nature and wildlife and the snorkeling here is excellent here when the conditions allow it. Cano Island is a great spot and it's available from Uvita, Sierpe, and Drake Bay.
