Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to Costa Rica
Welcome to Costa Rica! Today your private transportation will pick you up at the airport upon arrival and take you to Hotel Grano de Oro in San Jose. Here you are going to spend the night in class before the real adventure starts early tomorrow morning. Grano de Oro has a great restaurant where we can highly recommend you to enjoy dinner.
Day 2
Transfer to Pacuare
This is the beginning of your exciting vacation to Costa Rica! Your transportation will pick you up at your hotel in San Jose and take you to the River Pacuare. There you will be met by the lodge´s professional staff that will take you on an adrenaline-pumping whitewater rafting adventure to the lodge. Upon arrival, you will get to choose from the optional tours that you can participate in during your stay.
Day 3
Zipline Adventure
This is a great day to go and do the exciting zip-line tour that will take you speeding on the wires through the beautiful forest. Another exciting adventure you can choose from is the canyoning experience when you can rappel down a mountainside. If you are more interested in birds, the lodge also includes a fascinating birdwatching tour.
Day 4
The Cabecar indigenous hike
Today you can choose to participate in one of the cultural tours. The Cabecar indigenous hike is a truly cultural tour as you begin with meeting with an indigenous family and listening to their stories before we continue on a lush hike. This trek is challenging as we embark on a hike in the jungle with some difficult trails. There are also the Cabecar Indian Rancho & Rainforest hike and the Rural Experience tour to choose from.
Day 5
Whitewater rafting & San Jose
You begin this day with a delicious breakfast before you get ready for the trip back to San Jose. Once again you will get the opportunity to enjoy whitewater rafting as part of your transfer back to the capital. When you arrive in San Jose, the transportation will take you to the very good boutique hotel El Grano De Oro. We strongly recommend having dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, which is one of the best in Costa Rica.
Day 6
Transportation to the west coast & Island Glamping
Your private transportation will pick you up at Grano de Oro in the morning to take you to the ferry In Puntarenas. The ferry will take you to Paquera and your glamping lodge Isla Chiquita. We have included a magical tour on your first day, the bioluminescence tour. You will get to see this amazing nature phenomenon as the water gets “lit-up”.
Day 7
Snorkeling & the beautiful island Isla Tortuga
Today is a day for snorkeling and relaxing as your professional guide will take you to the beautiful island Isla Tortuga. This island has beautiful white sand and crystal-clear water, which makes it a great place for snorkeling. After your snorkeling experience you can relax by tanning on the beach with a tropical drink in your hand.
Day 8
Whale-watching tour
Your final tour included in your itinerary is one of the most exciting ones, namely the whale-watching tour! Your captain and guide will take you out on the ocean to see the huge whales as they play in the water jumping with their calves. This is truly a memory for a lifetime if you get to see Mother Nature at work as these amazing animals play.
Day 9
Back Home
After enjoying your delicious breakfast it's time to get ready for your return flight. You will take the ferry from Paquera to Puntarenas, and from there your private transportation will take you to San Jose airport well in time for your return flight. We hope to see you again soon in Costa Rica. You are very welcome to come back!
